How a donation is split

Every donation follows the same order. Nothing is taken out that is not listed here.

    The payment provider's actual fee, deducted from the organization's proceeds.

The processing fee shown for a donation is the figure on that transaction's provider record. Outta What? does not guess, average, or publish an estimated rate.

Where the numbers come from

  • The platform fee is a fixed 3% of the donation amount, calculated the same way every time.
  • The processing fee shown for a donation is the figure on that transaction's provider record. Outta What? does not guess, average, or publish an estimated rate.
  • Each organization's ledger shows gross donations, the platform fee, processing fees, refunds and adjustments, and net proceeds — the same figures used for payouts.
  • Payouts are configured to reach the organization's verified account. Outta What?'s own settlement account is the Halal account; that destination is confirmed last, immediately before launch.

Donations stay closed until all of this is verified

  • Payment provider connected. No provider is connected to the app, so nothing can be charged.
  • Payout flow verified. Payouts are configured to reach the organization's verified account. Outta What?'s own settlement account is the Halal account; that destination is confirmed last, immediately before launch.
  • Fee calculation reconciled against provider records. Each ledger row must carry the provider's own processing fee before net proceeds are shown as final.
  • Legal requirements confirmed. Solicitation registration, receipt wording, fee disclosure and refund terms reviewed for each jurisdiction served.
