What we review
We review reports about posts, comments, profiles, contest entries, organizations, campaigns and advertisements, and we also act on issues we find ourselves. Every report enters one queue; a person reviews it, and no report is assumed to be valid.
Actions we may take
Content removal or restriction, a warning notice, a temporary restriction on a feature, a temporary account suspension, or permanent account termination where justified. We take the least severe action that keeps the community safe and that fits the account's history.
Records of decisions
Every moderation decision is recorded internally with the reviewer, the rule involved, the action, the reason, the reported item and the time. Ordinary members cannot access internal moderation records. Reviewers can see the reported content and the account attached to it.
What we tell an affected member
Where appropriate we notify the affected member of the rule involved, the action taken, the reason, and the appeal procedure. The notice arrives in the member's Outta What? inbox, and the decision remains recorded whether or not a notice is appropriate to send.
How to appeal
Open Account Management → Moderation and appeals, choose what the decision was about, and explain why you believe it was a mistake. You can also reply to the notice or email us from the address on the account. Appeals are answered within 30 days.
How appeals are decided
A reviewer who did not make the original decision looks again at the content, the rule and the evidence. The decision is upheld, overturned or closed as a duplicate, and the outcome with its reason is recorded and sent to you. Where an appeal succeeds, the removed content is restored or the suspension is lifted.
What is not appealable
Content that endangers children, and content that we are legally required to remove, is not restored on appeal. Where the law requires it, such content is reported to the authorities.
Reports, blocking and false reports
Every surface that can be reported has a Report action, and any member can block any other member from their profile. Deliberately false or malicious reports are themselves a violation and can lead to restrictions.
Separation of powers
Platform moderation is carried out by authorized personnel under Halal Lyfestyle LLC. Organization administrators moderate nothing beyond their own organization's content, cannot see member moderation records, and cannot approve or reinstate accounts.
